Antequera sits in the middle of Málaga province, at the crossroads everyone passes through and few stop in. Its August fair is a five-day town feria with a fairground, casetas and a local holiday in the middle of it.
The town itself deserves the stop regardless: a dense old centre, more than thirty churches, and the Dolmens de Antequera — Neolithic burial chambers on the UNESCO list — just outside. El Torcal’s limestone landscape is twenty minutes further.
