Fiesta
Feria de Almería
The last big fair of the Andalusian summer, in the province most visitors skip.
- Dates
- 21–29 August 2026
Almería’s feria honours the Virgen del Mar, the city’s patroness, whose day is 26 August. The fair runs around it for roughly nine days at the end of the month — the last of the big Andalusian summer ferias.
Like Málaga it splits between a daytime fair in the centre and a night fairground, and like Almería generally it is markedly less touristed than the ferias further west. That is the appeal: the casetas are local, the prices are local, and nobody is performing for visitors.
Almería in late August is hot and dry — it is the driest province in Spain. Cabo de Gata and the beaches are an hour away and make the trip worth extending. See the Almería province guide.
