Jaén’s fair closes on the feast of San Lucas, 18 October, every year — which makes it one of the very few Andalusian ferias you can book a year ahead without checking. It runs about ten days up to that date.
It is a proper working-city feria rather than a tourist event: livestock and agricultural roots, a fairground, casetas that are mostly open to anyone, and a city that is otherwise very quiet for the rest of the year.
October is also the start of the olive season in Jaén, which is the point of the province. See the Jaén province guide.
