Real Feria de San Miguel, Vélez-Málaga

Vélez-Málaga is the market town of the Axarquía, the eastern half of Málaga province, and its San Miguel fair starts on the saint’s day, 29 September, running into the first days of October.

This is the less-developed side of the Costa del Sol — subtropical farmland, the Sierra de Tejeda behind, Nerja and Frigiliana along the coast. The feria draws from the whole comarca rather than from tourism.
