Fiestas Colombinas, Huelva

Huelva’s feria closes on 3 August, the day Columbus sailed from Palos de la Frontera in 1492, a few kilometres from the city. That gives it a fixed end date, working back roughly six days for the start.

Huelva is the least visited coastal province in Andalucía, and the feria is correspondingly local. The Columbus sites — Palos, La Rábida, Moguer — are worth the morning either side of it.
