Feria de Mijas

Mijas Pueblo’s feria honours the Virgen de la Peña, whose day is 8 September, and runs around it for most of a week. The setting does the work: a whitewashed village on a hillside about 400 metres above the coast, with the fair spilling through streets that were not built for it.

It is smaller and more local than the coastal resort ferias below, which is the reason to come up for it. Evenings are noticeably cooler than Fuengirola.
