Fiesta

Fiesta de los Patios, Córdoba

Ordinary people open their courtyards and let strangers walk through. It is the best fortnight to be in Córdoba, and the hardest to find a bed.

Dates
Expected early to mid May 2027

For a stretch of early May, Córdoba’s households open their private courtyards to the public and compete over who has grown the better one. Geraniums on whitewashed walls, wells, tiled floors, and residents sitting in the corner while strangers walk through their homes. UNESCO lists it as intangible cultural heritage.

The San Basilio district is the heart of it. Queues run down the street at the best-known patios; go early or late, and go on a weekday.

It is the single best time to be in the city and predictably the hardest to book. If you want to come for the patios, book months out. If you do not, avoid those weeks — prices rise and the centre is full.
